Vedant Kulkarni, MD serves as vice-chair and assistant chief of orthopedics, medical director of the motion analysis center, and director of orthopedic education and research at Shriners Children’s Northern California. Dr. Kulkarni’s clinical practice includes hip, lower extremity and foot deformities in children, with a special emphasis on neuro-orthopedic conditions such as cerebral palsy and spina bifida. He is the winner of the Fred P. Sage Award and Mac Keith Press Award from the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) for the development and validation of the free HipScreen mobile app. The HipScreen app is used worldwide to empower providers and families with tools needed to enact a hip surveillance program for children with cerebral palsy. Dr. Kulkarni has served as scientific co-chair of the 2024 AACPDM annual meeting and serves as the 2025-2026 chair of the Education Committee for AACPDM. He is a passionate medical educator, serving as faculty at the International Pediatric Orthopaedic Symposium (IPOS) and as co-director of the PediOrtho West Resident Education Course.
Jon R. Davids, MD is Emeritus Assistant Chief of Orthopaedics and Medical Director of the Motion Analysis Laboratory at Shriners Children's Northern California; and Professor and Emeritus Ben Ali Chair in Pediatric Orthopaedics in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of California Davis Medical School. He has published over 150 articles in peer review journals, and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics and Gait and Posture. He has written 45 textbook chapters on a variety of topics in pediatric orthopaedics. Dr. Davids has lectured extensively at regional, national and international levels, teaching gait analysis interpretation and clinical applications for children with cerebral palsy, myelodysplasia, and limb deficiency. He also has a long standing interest in global orthopaedics, and has led mission trips to Central America for over 20 years.
